Care Instructions:
The lubricant should be applied primarily to the docking/sealing end and lightly along the zipper sealing surfaces. The goal is a thin film—not a heavy coating.
Waterproof Zipper Lubrication & Care
- Clean the zipper first.
Rinse with fresh water to remove salt, sand, dirt, and other debris. Allow the zipper to dry. - Apply a small amount of lubricant.
Apply a thin, even film to the zipper’s sealing surfaces, with particular attention to the docking end where the slider seats completely closed. - Work the zipper.
Open and close the zipper several times to distribute the lubricant evenly. - Remove excess lubricant.
Wipe away any visible excess with a clean, soft cloth. Excess lubricant can attract sand and debris. - Lubricate periodically.
Reapply whenever the zipper begins to feel noticeably harder to operate or after repeated exposure to saltwater, sand, or harsh conditions. - Never force the zipper.
If resistance becomes excessive, inspect and clean the zipper before operating it further.
Important: Always make sure the slider is fully seated into the sealing/docking end when closing the bag. An incompletely seated slider may prevent the zipper from achieving its intended waterproof seal.
For saltwater use, a freshwater rinse after each outing is one of the most important steps for maintaining long-term zipper performance.
